New harddrives — WD RE4

I’ve recently exchanged my old RE3 harddrives (500GB) with new RE4 (non-green power) 2TB harddrives. Here is some data gathered if anyone is interested (I usually look for this kind of information before buying).

Using fio running on all three drives in read mode results in a nice ~420 MiB/s average throughput at the start of the disk, not bad.

The IOPS doesn’t compare with either a 10K drive nor any SSD, but the bandwidth is not that bad for a mechanical harddrive.
